Prices again hit New All-Time High: Norwegian Farmed Salmon Exports Weekly (week 21 2013)

Statistics Norway reported an export of 14,709 metric tonnes of fresh/chilled and frozen farmed salmon from Norwegian salmon farmers in week 21, 2013. On a rolling average four week basis volume in tonnes exported decreased 8.9% (-1,394 tonnes) on the same period last year.

The weighted average price per kilo for the week of NOK 43.74 was up 44.4% (NOK 13.21) YoY on a rolling average four week basis.

The value of exports for the week was NOK 643.298 million, an increase of 31.7% (NOK 147.847 million) on last year on a rolling average four week basis.

Tonnes exported for the week declined for the 14th week in a row on last year (rolling four week basis).

Prices for the week increased for the 32nd week in a row on last year (rolling four week basis) and the weighted average price for the week of NOK 43.74 (up from NOK 43.45 reported last week) was the highest ever reported.

As price growth yet again was substantially higher than the decline in volume, the total value of exports continued to increase on last year and represented the 52nd week in a row with an increase on last year (on a rolling four week basis).
